Location

Today we found our location. It is a disused warehouse with a door which is exactly what we need. It has some windows which shine a lot of natural light through. The location is quite eerie and suspicious which is again, what we wanted.

Location

We are looking for a large warehouse space for the main scene of are introduction so we have a lot of space to work in plus an area we can make very dark for the dramatic lighting we need to use. Also the warehouse is a blank canvas so it can look like its from any time period so they cant tell its the present and not the near future. So we are gonna go looking into ares around Weston in which we can film in hopefully looking for old abandoned warehouses.

Font ideas

This is the font we have chosen to use for our film title. We chose to use this font as it is different and robotic. It fits in with our futuristic feel well and has a slightly weird quality to it. We like the way that there are no round edges, they all look as if they have been cut. It makes the font look sharp and defines the word. It makes it look more eyecatching and intreguing. We also like the way the 'O' is not joined up. The other letters are joined up (the 'I' has two seperate parts but they are both complete). The 'O' seems to be broken, and looks like it is not meant to be this way. We like this as it represents that the other clones are content with the way things are, but one clone is different and in a way is broken mentally. This links to why the clone started the whole situation, and is why we are using this font for our opening sequence.

We also thought that this font worked. We liked the way in which there are many sections to each letter, representing the many clones around and the different types of clones. We thought that this one also showed a bit of a futuristic feel to it, but thought it was not a font that would necesserily be in a thriller film, and thought the other font had better relations to our film than this one.

We liked this font also, only because of the 'T'. We liked the way in which it was split into two, as it represented cloning perfectly. It represents the way in which one thing is split into two, etc. However, we realised that we would only want this font for our title, 'Omni', and this word does not have the letter 'T' in it. We also agreed that the font we have chosen again, has more relations to our film than this one.

Intro ideas

Our initial ideas for the introduction included a scene of a man falling down stairs. We planned to use the two main actors as twins, but we then changed this idea to clones which we incorporated to our final idea.

Straight away, we decided to include some elements of photography in our opening sequence. Originally, we were going to have the photo just lying on the floor, but we then changed this idea to have lots of photos falling to the floor instead. We thought this would look more effective.

Target audience

lThe target audience of the production are teenagers/adults that enjoy more intellectual and cultural films as opposed to the big summer blockbusters. We expect the film will have a guideline rating of 15 as it has some moderate violence

Our films synopsis

Our film is set on a near-future earth, maybe 10 or 20 years into the future. The global ban on cloning
had been eradicated. A global clone workforce has been created by a yet to be named corporation.
There are five different sets of clones, including military, general workforce, business, entertainment
and personal use clones (servants). The film concentrates on a singular clone from the workforce
sect, who has become crazed and maddened by seeing himself everywhere. In his mind, he considers
himself an individual and will do whatever it takes to become one. The only way he thinks he can
accomplish this is by killing off the other clones of his sect.

The idea for what our main character should look like is very detailed. We think he should have dark
hair, pale skin and piercing blue eyes. We want him to be attractive but striking, and have a strange
look about him.

Throughout the film, the main clone is trying to kill the others and begins to see is as a very normal
procedure. He succeeds in killing as many of the clones as he can, and in the end, when he thinks
he has won, the main protagonist dies. At the moment we are unsure of how he will die but we will
update the post when we do know.

Our title

We had many ideas for our title. We wanted it to not give too much away about the actual film, but also relate to the film a lot. We thought about having a word that means 'clone' but isn't as obvious as using that actual word. We had ideas like 'Replica', 'Duplicate' and 'Duplicity'. We wanted to use 'Duplicity' but realised that there had already been a film titled 'Duplicity' in 2009. We then decided to have a title which showed that there were a lot of clones, so decided to have 'Omni' which means 'every' or 'all'. This represents the fact that there are a lot of clones everywhere, but does not say it as obviously as using the actual word in the title. We were also going to use a number after 'Omni', for example 'Omni 22' to show a clones serial number, but decided against this as we thought simple is more effective; we decided on 'Omni'.
